Archaeologists discovered an “elixir” in an ancient Chinese tomb. In 2019, archaeologists found a 2,000-year-old bronze pot from the Western Han Dynasty. It contained 3.5 litres of a liquid referred to in Taoist literature as an “elixir of immortality.” Upon studying, the elixir was a mixture of potassium nitrate and alunite.
