As Food52 reported, the San Francisco syrup company Torani is said to have invented the flavoured latte in 1982. Its origin story alleges that the retired coffee industry veteran LC “Brandy” Brandenburg created a flavoured latte out of steamed milk, espresso and Torani’s vanilla and orange syrups, which he dubbed “Fantasia.”
