Additionally, another study undertaken by British attorneys using evidence culled from Facebook for divorce proceedings, concluded that Facebook can hurt people in committed relationships and even offer tips on how to avoid splitting up.
Nearly one-third of divorces are because of Facebook. 33% of divorced couples have stated Facebook was a reason for the breakup. Some of these more specific reasons are things like inappropriate messages to other people; which causes couples to fight, secret social media accounts, and doubting the relationship.
